Nomad Veterinary Services is owned and operated by me, Dr. Tiffany Heindel, D.V.M. I am a licensed Veterinarian with over 14 years experience in practicing small animal veterinary medicine. I decided to start a Mobile - or House Call - Veterinary Practice in January of 2010 in the northeast Ohio region, primarily in Lake, Cuyahoga, & Geauga counties. I definitely see a need for this service in our area! I am working to build a loyal clientele for my mobile practice by providing excellent veterinary care to my patients - your beloved pets! I will deliver professional, courteous, and effective communication to you, my client. I am prompt, responsible and dependable, and I will do my best to be flexible in scheduling an appointment that is convenient for you. I am very excited about this new venture and look forward to growing it into a practice you can depend on!
************** PLEASE NOTE: it has come to my attention that area Animal Emergency Clinics are referring people to call me. My business hours are 8 am - 6 pm only, and I work by appointment only. *********
I would like to stress that I am NOT an emergency vet. I cannot come on a moment's notice, and I am not equipped to do surgery, radiographs, and stat diagnostics, such as blood work, that are typically necessary for emergency situations. Please realize the limitations of this house call, mobile service. It's meant for clients that can schedule a visit at a mutually agreeable future time, where the patient is stable, relatively comfortable, and able to wait up to 24 or 48 hrs to address a medical issue. Wellness exams, senior blood work, vaccines, allergies, itchy or infected skin, ear infections, full anal glands, abscesses, scheduled euthanasia, etc. would be examples of issues that DO fall under the scope of my house call practice.
Please visit my LIBRARY page for an extensive list of pet conditions, diseases and standard care. The client educations handouts are very well written and can shed light on a wide range of conditions or issues you have. You can always follow up by posting a question to my FORUM page, or sending me an email.
I am happy to announce that I am now able to do laboratory testing for your pet if necessary! I use DVM Labs and I can get blood work, urinalysis, fecal and other lab tests in about a 48 hr turn around. This will be a fantastic screening for a senior wellness check, recommended for any pet over the age of 6-7 yrs old, as well as any pet that is having a medical issue. The tests are priced competitively, and by drawing blood in your home, we can usually minimize, or eliminate, that stress leukogram we often see with pets that are transported to a vet hospital for their exam and blood draw.
If blood or urine (via cystocentesis) is needed, I will need to arrange for one of my support personnel, typically a registered technician, or RVT, to join me, so that we can properly restrain your pet. We are very experienced in this, and in most cases, can do it quickly without much distress to your pet. Should sedation be needed, I can do that as well.
Please consider this as an option for your pet! I will provide you with a copy of the test results for your records.
